How 2 make your mum feel special
Chocolates and flowers are always a good idea on Mother’s Day, but if you're looking for new ideas to show your mum how much she means to you, how about trying these?
• Fill a photo album with pictures of you with your mum. If possible, try to include a picture from different stages of your life. She will treasure it.
• Take her out for the day and do something together that you know she'll enjoy. You could go for a walk in the countryside, go shopping, take her out for coffee, or visit some local gardens or a National Trust property.
• Cook a special meal… and don't let your mum help!
• Write her a letter saying what you appreciate about her, telling her all of the things you've learned from her.
• If you don’t want to go out, just pop in for a visit. Spend the afternoon together, playing board games or cards, or catching up on news.
• If she lives a distance away from you, phone her up when she's not expecting it, and have an unhurried chat.
• Tell her you love her. Tell her even if she already knows it.
