The true price of spring
My, that was a lovely weekend, wasn't it. Gorgeous sunshine. Nice balmy temperature. Yes, spring has sprung.
And so have all the other things that spring back to life in springtime. Like brambles. So that meant it was time for one of my irregular slash and burn parties in my garden, cutting back triffids and killer thorn bushes before they start eating my house.
And then a trip to the 'household recycling centre', with all the chopped down plants. At some point in the not-so-distant past we got a swanky new tip (hence the funky name). I'm always amazed by how much stuff is there. A field of fridges and washing machines. A skip just of TVs. A house-sized cage full of bikes. A pile of wooden chairs you could build your very own Wicker Man from.
I propose we rename Spring the 'landfilling' season.
