Too busy to enjoy life?
I had a week's leave recently with the full intention of picking up all the loose ends that seem to be lying around.
But, despite lunch dates with friends, meetings to discuss some random future opportunities, sorting out several jobs for various clients, and bits and bobs around the house, I reached the end of the week with a longer to do list than I started with. And then I had to go back to work.
The things that 'needed' to be done had intruded into my leisure time, so pretty much every day I was making work-related phone calls, answering emails, or chatting through prospects. So much for slowing down and getting some much needed r&r (although I did get some lie-ins which for a non-morning person like me were very enjoyable).
I am emphatically not a workaholic. I could give up work any time I want to. Or can I?
