It kind of slipped my mind
I’ve started becoming forgetful. People ask me to do things and I have every intention of doing it. But then someone asks me something else, or the phone rings, and I get distracted, and, before I know it the thing I was going to do has slipped out of my mind.
Sometimes I’ll even know there’s something I need to do or meant to do, but I can’t quite remember what it was. I’ll meet someone and say ‘Oh, there was something I needed to ask you… no, sorry, can’t remember.’ And then normally, five minutes after we’ve said goodbye, I’ll remember and be really annoyed with myself.
I’ve even done the classic ‘old person’ thing and gone upstairs, only to find out that when I’ve gotten upstairs I’ve forgotten why I went upstairs. How embarrassing.
So why am I getting forgetful? Is it bad planning? Is it just that I’m doing too much? Is it just that I’ve always had a bad memory but now when I forget to do stuff my absent-mindedness gets noticed by other people?
I’m not sure how to fix this, but I need to.
(By the way sorry this blog post is late. I spent all of yesterday thinking ‘there was something I needed to do…’)
