A day for Dads
It’s Father’s Day this Sunday… just in case you’d forgotten! Someone once said that Fathers give us ‘the most uncomplicated love we will ever know’.
Everyone has a unique relationship with their Father, so the generalisations just don’t work. Your Dad might be your idol, your enemy, a painful memory or a trusted and constant friend. If you’ve been fortunate enough to have a Dad who has lovingly made sacrifices for you throughout your life, this weekend is a great opportunity to show your appreciation and get in touch.
The way we relate to our parents shifts constantly through our 20s and 30s, and it’s worth remembering that they’ve been there and done the whole house-buying, spouse-meeting, career-navigating, child-rearing thing themselves. In fact, they might well have some good advice to share with us grown-up kids!
If you’re a Dad yourself, then well done! We hope you enjoy the privilege of Fatherhood this week. Check out this article from our latest ezine: ‘My Dad’s the best’.
