Not so unique after all

I once heard someone say ‘Yeah, I’m special, just like everybody else’.

The fact is; I sometimes think that I am the only one in my situation. If you’re in a relationship, you might think that no-one else has a partner like yours; no-one else has the same arguments or the same good times. But within the uniqueness is a whole lot of common ground.

A friend showed me this clip on Youtube about the differences between men and women. I watched it and thought: that’s so true about me! But judging from the audience, it was also true about a whole lot of people. I guess we’re not that unique after all. And if we’re all in the same boat, it’s much easier to laugh at ourselves, isn’t it? Sometimes a bit of perspective and a good laugh can shrink that mountain of issues to something that seems much more manageable.
